Each morning I wake up to a tea and toast and instead of watching the news I open my Groupon Inbox to check the Fortune Cookie of the day. The site is all over the place with amazing deals to eat in fancy restaurants, shop with the best sales ever and tease us with the craziest plans. However, my mornings would be even sweeter if Groupon included a wider offer of paradise-traveling deals.
Traveling sites such as Expedia, Travelzoo or Tripadvisor are already making the world a better place by offering us deals as the 80% off on flights nationwide. Groupon has catched up with them quickly and is currently offering traveling packages that are generally advertised for a week. However, the options are quite limited and the deals are not as juicy as the daily ones.
Now... imagine you find a trip to The Grenadines in a magnificent new traveling site –Tripalertz. And they tell you that the higher the amount of people booking the trip, the lower the price. The only thing you have to do is convince as many friends as you can (with the technologies that we have now a days it’s piece of cake!) of signing up for the deal. And don’t worry; you won’t have to go with your neighbors, the golf-club friends and your colleagues at work to this paradise island. Each of you can book their own dates! The result is a seven-night dream-like holiday for $1,666 less than the common traveling sites (Expedia and others).
With this service Tripalertz wants to become the Groupon of traveling. And it seems as if they are getting there. In an interview to Brendan Murphy, the founder of the site, he stated that they want to "bring like-minded travelers together to experience the world" through the use of Social Networks. To make this happen Tripalertz has launched a traveling package to SPACE!
They want to be pioneers in the "new frontier of traveling" by offering a $85,000 ($200,000 in Virgin Galactic LLC) trip to space in the Lynx Suborbital Spacecraft. The package includes among others:
*Five-night stay at Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort for training & preparation.
*$5,000 TripCash to first 25 buyers
*Medical evaluation and screening
*Personalized high definition DVD recorded by onboard cameras along with stellar mementos.
*Admiration from all earth's creatures.
*Customer Service with TripAlertz Founder Brendan
And the deal will end in 77 days!
If Groupon can catch up with this, they certainly have a call for succes ;)
